The Howards of Virginia
When his impoverished past is uncovered, Matt Howard is promptly fired by the Peytons, a wealthy family in Williamsburg during the Revolutionary War era. Undeterred, Matt returns to court the family's daughter, Jane, and the two marry and raise a family in the Virginia backwoods, infuriating the Peytons.
